Fall is knocking at our doors. Which means one thing: Sweater Season! Instead of returning to our boring old closets we thought the best way to prepare for this layer-friendly weather was to seek guidance from the experts. Introducing 8 TV characters who showed us how to wear a sweater right.
#8 Frank Barone – Perhaps taking cues from other folks on this list, Frank Barone took every chance he could to don a cardigan. He showed us you don’t have to be kindly to wear a cardigan.
#7 Doug - Who says you can’t be a cartoon and still look good?! Doug Funnie showed us that, with sidekick dog like Porkchop and a trademark Green Sweater Vest, any situation can be made slightly less awkward.
#6 Dick Loudon - The cardigan rides again. Whether keeping warm in rural Vermont or trying to avoid three backwoods brothers, Dick Loudon shows the versatility of the cardigan.
#5 Tom Baker’s Dr Who - Thinking outside the box is something all good doctors are capable of, no matter how much time they spend inside a big blue one. Baker’s Who let us know that a long enough scarf makes a sweater unnecessary.
#4 Bert - Bert showed us that nothing pairs better with collecting bottle caps or watching pigeons than a V-neck sweater with a turtleneck undershirt.
#3 Carlton Banks – Despite being overshadowed by his cousin from Philadelphia, Carlton was always first at proving a sweater can do more than just keep you warm. It’s an accessory!
#2 Fred Rogers – Not only did Fred Rogers show how classically fashionable the cardigan can be, but he also taught us – very usefully – how to put one on.
#1 Dr Heathcliff Huxtable - Dr. Huxtable not only wore his sweaters loud and proud, but he defined an entire genre of sweater. The Cosby Sweater remains timeless.
